Intern - Southern Crushed Concrete Division 


Location- Greater Houston Area


Southern Crushed Concrete (SCC) is a Texas-owned company established in 1991 and is a division of Webber, LLC. With the use of practical and inexpensive methods, SCC is able to produce recycled concrete, industrial sand and asphalt for a variety of construction projects throughout Southeast Texas. 


Internship Goals

  1. Gain knowledge of asphalt pavement, concrete pavement and/or bridge demolition projects
  2. Knowing and applying necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PEE) for jobsite activities
  3. Understanding the proper procedures to complete different aspects of a demolition project
  4. Gain understanding of the safety implications of various tools and equipment
  5. Assist superintendents with plant relocations, erection and operations
  6. Track costs and productions for plant operations
  7. Work with sales staff to prioritize production locations to match sales back log
  8. Assist equipment staff with the implementation of SCC's routine and scheduled equipment maintenance


  1. Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mining Degree Program
  2. Knowledge and experience with process equipment or large agricultural equipment is highly preferred
  3. Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  4. Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  5. Ability to travel locally across Webber/SCC locations
  6. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
