We seek well prepared students of top engineering schools to expand their education in civil engineering with transportation emphasis through the internship program offered at Walter P Moore. In this position the qualified individual will assist in analysis and design of traffic projects, including traffic signals, ITS applications, signing and pavement markings, construction phase traffic control plans, traffic signal timings for traffic and transit operations, and be involved in a wide variety of traffic studies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Working knowledge of traffic analysis software is essential. An understanding of local agency rules and regulations a plus.
Opportunities are available for summer intern positions, as well as part-time interns working during the school year, location permitting.
- Completion of a minimum of 40 college hours of engineering coursework towards Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, transportation emphasis preferred. At least 24 hours of this coursework should be engineering, physics or math related.
- Written recommendation from a civil engineering professor.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week, during summers and/or 15-20 hours per week while pursuing Civil Engineering degree
