  • Overview

    The Benefits Specialist is a highly responsible, results oriented individual who is responsible for the administration of benefits plans for and assigned set of clients. They will provide excellent customer service and ensure that client benefits plans are administered accurately and efficiently.


    Specific Job Expectations include

    • Assist clients with benefits including; group health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending as well as others.
    • Update worksite employee and client records, as needed
    • Communicate with client companies over the telephone and via email
    • Ensure the confidentiality of client and worksite employee data
    • Promote a positive work environment by maintain respectful interactions with management, employees, and clients, and helps drive change to ensure client satisfaction
    • Ensure auditing processes are developed and maintained to ensure benefit billing accuracy in the HRIS System and at the carrier level
    • Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • A minimum of 2-3 years benefits related experience
    • Benefits administration or broker assistant experience preferred
    • Attention to detail and highly organized

    PEO experience preferred

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency with common office software such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Experience with an online benefits enrollment system & HRIS systems preferred
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to handle sensitive client situations gracefully
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with the ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients

    Physical Requirements, Language Skills:

    • Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs
    • Frequent viewing of computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse
    • Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. periodically
    • Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position
    • Fluency in English – speak, read and write
