Job Description

The College of Technology is the second largest growingcollege at the University of Houston, a Carnegie-designated Tier One publicresearch university. We are looking for highly dedicated scholars, researchers,and teachers to help us prepare the future's technologist, scientists, andbusiness leaders. 

The Digital Media program in the Information and LogisticsTechnology Department is seeking applicants for a full-time,nine-month academic year, tenure-track position at the associate or fullprofessor rank depending on qualifications. The anticipated start date of theposition is September 1, 2019.

Digital media is the creative convergence of digital arts, science, technology, and businessfor human expression,communication, social interaction, and education. The Digital Media program is characterizedby a curriculum which stresses the “producer” side of digital media andemphasizes the business aspect of the field along with its technical andaesthetic aspects.

The successful applicant must havea strong teaching record coupled with nationally- or internationally-regardedscholarly activity in one or more of these areas of specialization: print,packaging, eMedia, eCommerce, motion media, or simulation and gaming.

The Digital Media undergraduateprogram in the Information and Logistics Technology Department at theUniversity of Houston has experienced steady growth instudent enrollment. The program is accredited by the Accrediting Council ofCollegiate Graphic Communications (ACCGC) and serves approximately 600 undergraduatestudents specializing in one of six concentrations in Digital Media. Academic responsibilities at UH include teaching undergraduate courses; assisting in the development of a graduate program; providing program, departmental, college, and university service; and conducting research. Responsibilities of research, service and teaching may be in any content area related to digital media.
