Position Details

Position Summary

The Financial Aid Assistant provides administrative support for Financial Aid at Universal Technical Institute, where we are driven to make a difference. This role is focused on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time in order to create precise and consistent work output.

Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables

Monitor student traffic for the Financial Aid Department.

Notify staff when students arrive for appointments

Answer busy multi-line phone system in a professional manner.

Send out all mailings for the Financial Aid Department and date stamp and disseminate large volume of mail to appropriate staff.

Check in new enrollments and create files for them.

Enter Data from FAFSAs and other information when presented.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education / Experience

High school diploma or GED required

One year of customer service experience.

Previous telephone experience helpful.

Skills

Must have excellent organizational skills and be very detail-oriented.

Strong communication skills verbal and written.

Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Typing 45-50WPM.

Personal computer experience.

Abilities

Normal physical activity including movement, hearing, seeing and communication.

Work Environment

Fast paced campus office environment.

Regular business hours with one night per week required.

Occasional overtime.

General technology as it relates to office administration.

Heavy phone contact.
