Job Summary

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for growing market share and promoting industrial products at key end user accounts. The individual contributor will generate new and/or continued product sales and possess a level of competence necessary to comprehend and communicate technical aspects of the products and customer specifications.

The core product groups include both low and medium voltage AC induction electric motors, variable frequency drives, and control gear.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sale and after sale support of all forecasted products to the assigned customer base.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding sales targets assigned by the Director of Oil & Gas Sales.
  • Maximize time spent in front of current and potential customers.
  • Conduct sales calls directly with end users, packagers, and/or integrators to promote Toshiba products.
  • Responsible for knowing and covering all buying influences for all opportunities.
  • Continually develop technical knowledge on all forecasted products and be able to communicate to customers the benefits of the features that are important to them.
  • Understand similar competitive products to help differentiate Toshiba product's features and benefits.
  • Influence customer specifications and preferences with the goal to have Toshiba products sole sourced.
  • Efficiently solve customer problems.
  • Arrange and conduct product training for assigned integrators, customers and target customers utilizing factory personnel when appropriate.
  • Utilize Toshiba's CRM tool for appointments, opportunities, contacts, etc.
  • Participate in weekly conference calls with the Director of Oil & Gas Sales to discuss opportunities, appointments, bookings, forecasts, etc.
  • Provide Director of Oil & Gas Sales and relevant product departments with information on product requirements, acceptability and competitive feedback.
  • Attend conventions, exhibits, and meetings as directed by the Director of Oil & Gas Sales in order to stay abreast of industry trends and products as well as developing customer relationships.

 

 

 

Requirements, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred, but will consider alternative background with appropriate experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in related field (electrical manufacturer, preferably to include Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives)
  • Experience working closely with distributors/integrators to effectively promote a product line
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working from home office
  • Travel required

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Requirement to travel up to 50% of the time
