Job Summary Enhance TICs Environmental Health and Safety systems and processesAccountable for EHS performance and staff effectivenessCollaborate with Facilities Department and Plant Management to drive EHS performanceSet strategies for all environmental health safety initiatives and activitiesEvaluate and enhance EHS methodologiesUnderstand and ensure proper regulatory and corporate compliance Maintain a safe workplace environment for all employees and visitorsStrive to continuously improve in the conservation of natural resources and reduction of workplace hazards Advise TIC management of issues relative to Toshiba`s EHS programs, ISO Registration and worker`s compensation loss control efforts.Understand ISO 45001 Standard and management systemsUnderstand ISO 14001 Standard and management systemsExcel and managing relationships with your staff and with Plant Management and personnelIncluding Safety CommitteesIncluding all Environmental StakeholdersExcel in building programs that fit TICs specific needsResponsibilities:Develop strategies that place the injury rate below the industry average.Ensure the Written Safety Programs are developed and enhanced on a continuous basis.Ensure Safety Training is administered in accordance with compliance requirements.Monitor Workers Compensation cases to avoid excess spending.Ensure compliance with Industrial Hygiene Monitoring requirements.Implement techniques that will minimize Lost Time Days.Ensure all reporting requirements are completed within established time constraints.Acquire EHS Commitment from the Leadership group.Keep management informed/updated on SH trends, activities, and performances.Ensure records comply with agency requirements. Submit reports on time.Manage departmental expenses do not exceed the authorized budget.Keep current on EHS subjects through attendance at various educational events.Travel: Limited as needed



  • Bachelor s Degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering, Safety Management or related technical field
  • 15-20 years of progressive experience in EHS related management
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Extensive experience in managing EHS functions
  • Experience driving a multi-site organization at a senior level
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, plan, and lead others to successfully influence organizational change as well as work with all levels of the organization
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 implementation; has moved plant or company to ISO 14001 standards
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and comprehensive knowledge of federal and state EHS laws, rules, and regulations


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal working environment is under office conditions. However, visits to field or supplier locations may require the intermittent climbing of ladders, access to scaffolds, and wearing of appropriate protective equipment (hard hat, safety shoes, protective eyewear, fall protection harness, etc.)



  • Must be able to lead teams assigned to specific missions
  • The working environment ranges from general office to project site, including the facilities of suppliers
  • Routine contact with equipment, workplace hazards, and other employees (including subcontractors and suppliers) is to be expected
