Windstorm Inspector
Job Description

The Windstorm Inspector inspects buildings constructedin the first tier of counties along the Texas Gulf Coast for building codecompliance in order to be considered insurable property for windstorm coveragethrough the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.


The ideal candidate will perform physical inspections ofresidential and commercial properties. This candidate will also be responsiblefor meeting with contractors, builders, agents, consumers, and professionalengineers on building code requirements.


-performs physical inspections of residential andcommercial properties;

-travels on a consistent basis;

-prepares and maintains field office progress reportsfor Austin office;

-responds to technical inquiries, both verbal and written;and

-develops and facilitates education programs andspeaking events for the public and industry professionals regarding TDI rules,policies, and changes. 


-high school diploma or equivalent;

-nine months of experience in the construction communitywhich may include building inspector, contractor, superintendent, builder,roofer, or in a field relative to assignment; and

-Class C Texas Driver's License.

A skills test will be administered during interview.
