Advanced Field Service Engineer

Quest Integrity, a global leader in inspection and engineering services, is seeking an experienced Advanced Field Service Engineer to perform all phases in the execution of MANTIS and LOTIS inspection jobs; the pre-job, on-job and post-job responsibilities.
These phases of inspection jobs will be carried out from one’s base location and on customer’s job sites using advanced inspection equipment. When not performing inspection jobs, responsibilities will include equipment maintenance and upkeep, on-going training activities, logistical support, and performing special projects. This position requires extensive international travel.
Position will in be based in Shorewood, Illinois
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform pre-job responsibilities; work scope reviews, prep report materials (create drawings and load historical tables), calibrations and verifications, pack and transport inspection equipment
•Perform on-site inspection duties; set up equipment, verify tool calibration, perform inspection, perform equipment repairs, verify data quality, analyze and process inspection data, assist with field report generation, cleaning of equipment, and re-packing
•Perform post-job responsibilities; inspect equipment, clean vehicle, perform tool check-in tasks and calibration verifications, analyze and process inspection data, assist with field and/or final report generation
•Responsible for primary maintenance of custom inspection equipment after return from inspection including repairing, cleaning and testing equipment and maintaining a clean work environment
•Responsible for packing and shipping custom equipment for local and international destinations
•Provide engineers complete and detailed feedback of inspection equipment performance
•Solder, crimp, and small wire harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards
•Maintain equipment, shop and a clean and safe working environment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or two year technical degree with relevant experience
•5 years’ experience as an Engineering Electro/Mechanical Technician. Training/experience in the hi-tech, field service, refining or petrochemical industry preferred
•Prior field service experience running technical projects with crews preferred
•Must have outstanding customer service skills, an excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to work in a team environment
•Requires strong mechanical aptitude with mechanical and electrical diagnostic and problem solving skills
•Must have proficiency using small hand tools and other type of power equipment found in a workshop
•Requires manual dexterity for operating electro mechanical equipment
•Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
•Assembly, maintenance and repair of electro mechanical NDT equipment including soldering required
•Requires machining experience and ability to read fabrication drawings and electrical schematics
•Must possess a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
•Travel requirement: 80% during peak periods
