Youth Mental Health Trainer
at Spindletop Center
JOB PURPOSE: The goal for the Youth Mental Health Trainer is to facilitate state-approved evidence-based practice trainings, increase the number of training sessions available, and increase the number of overall trainings completed. Performs and coordinates trainings to ensure the Center is in compliance with contract obligations and to ensure professional development opportunities for direct care workers. Work includes the preparation of reports, coordination of trainings throughout the community, collaboration with other Centers and cultivation of positive relationships with various community stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience in public speaking or training preferred.
DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE): Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services. Must complete and maintain certification as an instructor in an approved evidence-based practice training for youth with mental illness (to be completed upon employment if not currently certified).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS OR CONDITIONS (specify):
Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state must be currently licensed in that state. Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must complete all CORE training requirements in month in which they are due.
