JOB PURPOSE: Provides supervision to staff providing services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities served in General Revenue, Home and Community-based Services and TxHmL programs. Supervises the People Of Purpose (POP) program. Is responsible for the overall program structure and supervision of the POP Programs. Directs training and supervision of staff, participates in the hiring process and the development of new employees.   Operates within the guidelines of the Performance Contract, HCS (GR), and TxHmL Principles,   Works under the direct supervision of the Workforce Development Specialist IV with considerable latitude for the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. May perform direct care services. Is responsible for POP management and assignment of individuals to staff; monitors and assists staff with documentation; maintains supplies and inventory; conducts performance evaluations as scheduled, and updates position descriptions as needed. Collects data for program evaluations. Responsible for the supervision of all Day Habilitation programs in IDD Port Arthur Services in the absence of the Workforce Development Specialist.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED.  Two years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities.  Knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to services for individuals with developmental disabilities. One year supervisory experience preferred. Experience must include effective oral and written communication skills. Computer skills in Word and Excel required.



Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business and must successfully complete van driver’s training.

Must complete all CORE training requirements in month in which they are due.
