What do you get to do in this position?
ApplicationDesign Engineer II: Responsible for handling the overall technicalresponsibilities of one or more engineering projects, including projectspecification, design, functionality and testing.
Provide technicaldesign, knowledge and know how for customers in a specific application domain.Applies standards, procedures and best practices in autonomy. May report onpotential commercial risk or opportunities and /or on customer technicalneeds.
Reviews and preparesproject specifications to ensure the safety system meets the technicalrequirements of the project. Ensures customer's budgetary and schedulingrequirements are met, as outlined by the Project Manager.
Provides engineer safetysolutions on projects based on project specifications. Ensures the safetysystem design meets the project specification. Oversees the hardwareselection/specification and development of the safety system software.
Responsible for thedevelopment and programming of the safety system logic and the functionality ofthe safety system. Uses logic drawings, control narratives and the basis ofdesign documents to contribute to logic development.
Performs system testingand factory acceptance testing. Supports the factory acceptance testand develops a test document for selected projects as required.
Interfaces withcustomers on technical and contractual details. Provides customersupport on assigned projects and future project needs.
May perform otherrelated duties as required.
This job might be for you if:
- Education and/or experienceequivalent to a B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Scienceis required.
- At least 6 to 8 years of related experience and knowledge ofindustrial/process automation controls, including emergency shutdown and/or turbomachinerysystems, is preferred.
- HMI software, DCS system and fieldinstrumentation knowledge is preferred.
