About the Opportunity

We are a Law firm with state-wide practice seeking a PARALEGAL for its Houston office. (Central location.) Candidate must have minimum 3 years litigation experience, heavy pre-trial discovery experience, strong communication skills with a solid understanding of the civil court system.

Qualifications: 3 5 year experience, degree ideally in paralegal studies, as well as a paralegal certificate, but will consider significant paralegal experience in lieu of those qualifications.

Responsibilities include performing a variety of legal and administrative tasks, including:

  • Prepare/draft pleadings, motions and written discovery in civil litigation.
  • Communicate and assist clients and attorneys in preparing responses to written discovery, document production(s), preparing for depositions and trials.
  • Review incoming mail and faxes to calendar events and deadlines.
  • Ability to keep office running efficiently (manage filing, calendars, litigation deadlines, etc.)
  • Perform duties administrative in nature pertaining to cases.

The ideal candidate for the position must be able to function well in a fast-paced, professional environment, be extremely organized, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and meet deadlines is essential. The candidate must have a high level of efficiency and accuracy in dealing with detailed work. Candidate must be computer literate with Windows 10 and Microsoft Word, Excel, Exchange, Outlook, and Clio or similar billing system.
