Odfjell Terminals US is a provider of tank storage services, owned by Odfjell (51%) and Lindsay Goldberg (49%).

Odfjell Terminals US aims to become the best in class provider of tank storage and associated services for liquid chemicals, biofuels, edible oils and gases, adding value to all relevant stakeholders.

The company’s strategy is to grow within its current footprint of terminals, especially in Houston. A key objective is to harvest synergies with Odfjell Tankers.

Odfjell Terminals US current capacity is 459,000 CBM of storage space with 128 tanks and posted 2018 revenues of USD 88 million with cash earnings of USD 37 million

Odfjell currently owns stakes in terminals in the USA (Houston, Charleston), China (Dalian, Jiangyin, Tianjin), South Korea (Ulsan), and Belgium (Antwerp). The total capacity is 1.5 million CBM of storage space with 565 tanks. The terminal network also includes a cooperation agreement with a group of tank terminals in South America, partly owned by related parties.

IT Director

 

The IT Director is responsible for leading the organization’s Information Technology function. The role designs a strategic vision of how technology will transform the business, educate peers and other business leaders on data monetization and value-added services as the next engines of growth, and crafts a compelling enterprise narrative on the changes required for success in digitization.
 

The IT Director is a member of Odfjell Terminals US Management and is responsible to contribute to delivering on the ambitious growth strategy for the USA, which includes a significant expansion from its current footprint. The position will report to the CEO of Odfjell Terminals US.


Strategic Direction Setting

  • Keeps abreast of emerging digital and business trends, develops and executes an IT strategy and IT application landscape that takes advantage of these trends, and collaborates with other business leaders to embed digital opportunities in business strategy, including the company’s product and channel strategies
  • Works with business stakeholders to develop and executes an integration strategy that provides access to data from diverse sources and extends the business to partner and customer ecosystems
  • Works with stakeholders to continually optimize IT governance and decision-making processes as the business context and technology landscape changes
  • Collaborates with the CIO of Odfjell SE to ensure business and technological synergizes are taken advantage of in the best possible manner

Service and Product Delivery

  • Oversees the creation and management of a product line-based delivery model in IT, focusing on balancing local capabilities with global adaptation and consumption of the services and products delivered by partners
  • Creates the foundation for embedding new technologies into external customer-facing products or services
  • Ensures interoperability throughout the digital product portfolio to create value to channel partners and deliver an effortless and seamless digital customer experience
  • Uses change management expertise and an end-to-end understanding of the digital value chain to coach business leaders on driving enterprise change
  • Owns the process of defining and managing one or more of the enterprise changes that underpin successful digitization as the opportunity arises

Functional Management

  • Directs and oversees the management of the IT budget process, costs, and resources for the IT organization
  • Designs and implements an IT-business engagement model to identify and shape demand and align IT offerings with business needs
  • Oversees sourcing decisions and scalable vendor management processes

Staff and Leadership Development

  • Oversees a strategic workforce plan’s development and implementation to maximize the current and future workforce’s effectiveness considering strategic business priorities
  • Oversees the creation of a compelling employment value proposition to attract and retain critical talent
  • Contributes to company-level goals for talent development, diversity, and inclusion
  • Work in accordance with Odfjell SE’s corporate policies and regulations within relevant areas.

Skills

  • Ability to develop strategic initiatives and oversee the development of long-term plans and proposals to support business objectives
  • Ability to challenge, convince and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Strong business acumen; understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and revenue goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented mind-set
  • Full knowledge of project, risk and operations management

Experience and educational requirements

  • University level education (Masters) in Information Technology.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in information systems management at a senior level, with at least 5 years of experience working with executive and board-level personnel
  • Experience leading large transformation initiatives and major IT projects
