Basic Function

The Manager, Corporate Function Controlling is responsible for the budgeting, reporting,  analysis and day to day cost activities to senior management as well as providing finance support to functional organizational leaders. This postion will lead the monthly fixed cost forecast process and serve as back up to the Fixed Cost Controller for global reporting and analysis.  The Manager, Corporate Function Controlling will provide oversight over 2 – 3 FTEs.

The Manager of Corporate Functional Controlling is expected to have detailed knowledge in cost reporting, forecasting and budgeting and experience leading processes or projects. 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position provides leadership and guidance to their team and lead the cost consolidation for various organizations.   The position is responsible for partnering with cost center owners, managers and budget leads to provide detailed analysis on cost performance against budget and historical costs.  This position interfaces frequentely with Senior Management. 

Specific areas of responsibility and influence include:

Develop the annual budget and monthly forecast for multiple corporate function departments in conjunction with the leadership team delivering value added and investment decision support analysis

Drive standardization, efficiency and automation on Fixed Cost reporting and analysis and define consistently applied methodologies/definitions for reporting and variance analysis

Approve and maintain master data for cost center and cost element hierarchies

Analyze business function financial cost variances and report findings to address any cost issues and recommend corrective actions

Responsible for leading the fixed cost forecasting process by communicating expectations & deadlines and providing training to the corporate functions.  This positiion will also consolidate the total corporate function view for monthly forecast loads using BPC and provide detailed forecast versus budget analysis to the Fixed Cost and Segment controllers

Lead profit center allocation process for the annual budget process to provide allocated G&A to the business. 

Act as back up to the Fixed Cost Controller for cost consolidatation and analysis

Train other team members and budget coordinators

Conduct Fixed cost budget training presentations to all organizations in the company.

Lead special projects as needed

Min. Qualifications


  1. A baccalaureate degree in accounting or finance
  2. MBA or other advanced degree is an advantage

Work Experience:

  1. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a multi-entity, complex global environment.
  2. Prior management experience preferred
  3. Experience in Petrochemical or relate industries is a plus
  4. Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
