Position Description

Work location may be considered at any work location within Division 11 region.
1. Field level technical resource for automation, instrumentation, and electrical equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and programming. This includes the following tasks:
a. Provide technical support for PLC/control system issues at compressor facilities and plants.
b. Condition monitoring of electrical switch gear, including MCCs and transformers.
c. Troubleshoot communications and network issues within company facilities related to process control systems, DCS, SCADA, and other controls applications.
d. Program field control systems to ensure safe and accurate execution of commands as issued from gas control or HMI systems.

2. Provide mentoring and leadership to area Equipment & Controls technicians, assist in staff development and training, provide guidance to supervisors for hiring and progression testing, and ensure area operations E&C technicians are performing tasks in accordance with company policy and procedures.
a. Provide guidance and field support for Capital projects teams as required ensuring company facilities are constructed and programmed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
b. Scope, budget, and execute small capital projects involving automation of field installations including, but not limited to compression stations, meter stations, interconnects, tank farms, and other gas or liquid pipeline installations.
c. Work with corporate gas control, automation engineering, communications group, and networking group to ensure that field automation equipment is functioning as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Experience/specific knowledge:
1. Relevant experience in industrial process automation and control equipment including and not limited to PLCs, field instrumentation, SCADA systems, DCS applications, and other similar devices.
2. Relevant training and experience with low and medium voltage electrical equipment.
3. Experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and other computer proficiency a plus.
4. Ability to work safely in challenging environments, including and not limited to high temperature, noise, dust and other industrial / oilfield locations.
5. Ability to efficiently execute job functions with minimal supervision and the ability to prioritize activities to meet company needs.
6. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Ideal candidate will be able to provide expertise for company management, engineering, and operations staff.
7. Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

Education: Technical or Associates degree in Industrial Automation or Process Controls is preferred. Will consider equivalent experience.

Qualified candidate must be able to pass a company background check and drug test after offer of employment has been made.
