Position Description

Position Responsibilities

: Kinder Morgan – Products Pipeline is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual that will provide technical support to our Pipeline Protection Group. The successful candidate will:

Interpret construction documents to identify potential encroachments and variances from established construction and design procedures.

Prepare pipeline stress calculations including encroachment, span, new construction, road and rail crossings, and related situations.
Communicate directly with other KM departments and 3rd parties, including public works, consultants, developers, and foreign utilities.
Maintain geotechnical and hydro technical database.
Prepares reports, analyses, calculations, spreadsheets, and diagrams as requested.Position level commensurate with experience and skill sets.

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

Associates degree in a STEM field or construction management, Bachelors preferred.

Basic knowledge of site development, grading, and erosion and sedimentation control.
3 or more years of oil and gas industry experience in safety, engineering, land, operations, or construction. Field experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret a wide variety of public works, civil, land development, structural, and mechanical, construction and land documents, blue prints and construction drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer skills with programs such as MS Office, MS Visio, ESRI applications, Google Earth, AutoCAD, Pipeline Toolbox, HEC-RAS or SAP.

Working conditions: Primarily office setting within Houston, Texas. Travel may be required but typically is less than 5%. Working after hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
