Pipeline/Mapping Designer VI

Responsible for creating and maintaining project base files, alignment sheets, site specific drawings/exhibits, construction typical drawings, HDD design details, property plat drawings, permit drawings, and GIS maps. Assigns and schedules work and is responsible for the progress and quality of deliverables of a team of pipeline designers generally assigned to a single project or working in a specialized field. This position includes doing performance evaluations on pipeline design team members.
Assess an assigned project's scope, design basis, man hours, staffing requirements, deliverables and execution procedure.
Knowledgeable of company, department and project procedures and ensure all are followed throughout a project.
Develop and/or participate in all project related pipeline mapping/drafting activities.
Assign pipeline mapping/drafting team personnel to various responsibilities.
Complete small pipeline mapping projects and coordinate with other discipline designers.
Participate in all design reviews.
Monitor the progress for all pipeline design activities regarding budget, schedule, and staffing and reports results to Project Management.
Ensure the deliverable verification process, and that all deliverables are issued according to schedule.
Participate in weekly project discipline team meetings and conduct pipeline design team meetings as needed.
Ensure each pipeline design team member is working according to Jacobs safety guidelines and has successfully completed any project specific safety training.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience and a High School or Associate Graduate, or a BS degree reducing this requirement to 8 years' experience.
- BlueSky training/certification a plus.
- Candidates should have enough knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D to manage, organize and trouble-shoot work activities and perform necessary layout and design.
- Experience in ArcGIS is preferred for developing preliminary pipeline route exhibits and keymaps.
- Experience in other applications such as Microsoft Office and Bluebeam software are a plus.
