Job Profile

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Revenue Cycle Quality Initiatives Coordinator position is to provide project management functions applicable to the Harris Health System's Revenue Cycle as it relates to current and future quality-based payment impacts.  The Revenue Cycle Quality Initiatives Coordinator will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budgets.  Duties will include coordinating the efforts of the Hospital Acquired Conditions/Potentially Preventable Complications steering committee with vendors, contractors, and/or consultants in addition to internal departments including, but not limited to Coding, IT, Quality, HIM, Decision Support, Systems Integration, Finance/Reporting, and CDI.  The Coordinator will also define the projects' objectives and oversee quality control throughout the projects' life cycles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   
1.  Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:  Healthcare-Related Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred).  Formal coding education and/or coding or clinical experience required.  Experience with quality-based programs with revenue cycle-based impacts preferred (HAC, PPC, PSI, PPR, Readmission Reduction Program, etc.).
2.  Work Experience (Years and Area):At least two years of coding education and/or at least two years of coding or clinical experience required.
3.  Management Experience (Years and Area): None required
4.  Equipment Operated:EPIC electronic medical record 3M Encoder,  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Visio)

     Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
     Writing/Composing:  Correspondence/Reports  

2.  Other Skills:    Analytical, CRT, Design, Medical Terms, P.C., Research,Statistical, Word Processing, Anatomy and Physiology

3.  Advanced Education:
Advance Training Specialty:  NAHQ CPHQ credential required within two years of employment

4.  Work Schedule:   Weekends, Holidays, Flexible
