TITLE/CODE: Senior Project Manager
DEPARTMENT: PMO and Continuous Improvement
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Director of Project Management and Continuous Improvement, this position is responsible for managing multiple related PMO and Continuous Improvement projects that span organizational divisions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.
· Manage multiple concurrent high-complexity projects utilizing established frameworks, methodologies, tools and techniques
· Coordinate project team activities and interface with associated department personnel to include scheduling meeting times and locations, taking meeting minutes or notes, developing presentations.
· Responsible for all PMO department and resource training to utilize PM methodologies, tools & techniques, and PMO software
· Provide oversight, project framework and support to operational project managers to ensure timely project completion; including risk analysis and issue management
· Perform business analysis relevant to projects including but not limited to review of industry experiences with similar projects, ROI analysis and project impact.
· Participates in project budget administration.
· Identify stakeholders, document requirements and specifications.
· Monitor costs, schedules, performance, risks, and issues and report the status of ongoing projects to supervisor and other relevant internal customers.
· Create and implement project plans, validation plans, SOPs.
· Create and execute comprehensive validation test cases and complete all required supporting documentation.
· Serve as PMO software administrator and maintain configuration settings
· Develop and maintain project report data
Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Must comply with all applicable safety rules and policies and be willing to report actual and potential safety violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in The Blood Center’s sole discretion.
Full time: must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, or such other days or hours per week as The Blood Center determines are necessary to meet business needs.
Overtime (applicable only to non-exempt positions)
Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as The Blood Center determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
Weekend and Holidays
Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as The Blood Center determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
Must occasionally be able to work at off site locations and transport self to same.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Project Management, Business Administration, or Life Sciences. MBA preferred Minimum of five year’s work experience in Project Support/Training preferably in a blood or tissue center or blood bank.
PMP certification through Project Management Institute (PMI) strongly preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer Literate: Microsoft Office
Extensive configuration and end-user knowledge of Microsoft Project/Project Server/Project Online
Ability to use scanning, conference call, audio/visual equipment
Knowledge of regulations pertaining to record retention, training and validation
