Summary

The Regional Vice President Sales ensures the field organization is providing a consistent brand experience for our customers by cascading and ensuring alignment of, the vision and strategy of the organization by performing the following main duties: 

  • Leads a region of Finish Line stores to provide a premium customer experience that drives overall comp gains, ensuring that Finish Line is the most relevant omni-channel retailer by putting the customer first in everything we do.

  • Holds responsibility for creating, maintaining, changing and shifting the culture of the field organization.

  • Oversees and is responsible for maintaining sales levels and profits by ensuring alignment with the organizational strategy focused on driving and sustaining comp sales gains.

  • Trains and develops Area Managers through identifying strengths and opportunities and supporting the creation of an actionable development plan. 

  • Accurately assesses the performance of Area Managers and Store Managers in the region and effectively provides coaching and performance feedback on a regular basis.

  • Controls labor and expenses for region in collaboration with their Area Managers.  

  • Enforces all policies and procedures regarding Loss Prevention, Security and Human Resources.

  • Monitors loss and shrink reports.

  • Leads product communication for region.

  • Assists Area Managers with visual execution of stores.

  • Assists Area Managers with store personnel development and new store staffing and training.

  • Oversees customer service and sales programs at regional level.

  • Provides and supports a respectful, inclusive and diverse working environment that allows our employees to be successful.

  • Directly supervises employees.

  • Acts as primary liaison for communication between cross-functional corporate and field business partners, cultivating a collaborative and effective environment. 

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Additional duties and projects as required.

Required Education and/or Experience

BA diploma, M.B.A. preferred. At least 7 - 10 years additional progressive experience as a District or Area Manager, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Effective and influential spoken, written, electronic, and presenting skills are required.  Emotional intelligence demonstrated should reflect appropriate management of the emotions of self and others.  Communication should be constructive and proficient with employees at all levels, vendors and other external individuals, and internal and external customers.

Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Decisions of significance may need to be made where not all facts are available, and the incumbent must appropriately assess risk and take action.  Must possess extensive and excellent financial and analytical skills. Problem solving should be completed in a timely manner, taking priorities into consideration.

  • Spending up to than 75% time traveling (by air or land).
