Job Profile

The Paralegal keeps abreast of a large volume of contracts and provides professional support to the Legal Affairs Department. The Paralegal is responsible for day-to-day legal-related activities such as, but not limited to, review, revising, and drafting contracts and legal memoranda under the supervision of the attorney; assisting with litigation including responses to letters, subpoenas, and open records requests; organizing information and preparing correspondence and written reports as needed by the department.


  • Bachelors degree and paralegal certification.
  • Four years preferably in the health care or insurance industry.
  • Experience should include litigation and contract drafting basics as prior experience in the legal field.


  • Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
  • Writing /Composing, Correspondence/Reports.
  • Analytical, Mathematics, Research
  • Requires excellent written composition, oral comprehension and expression skills.
  • General knowledge of Texas and federal laws related to contracts, corporate and transactional legal principles, and knowledge of health care laws, including HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, the Texas Insurance Code, the Texas Health and Safety Code, and other related laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of contract procedures and administration preferred. Ability to perform internet research and electronic document management skills.
