DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares and proofreads documents for duplication and/or imaging and performs various clerical duties. Maintains and requisitions paper stock, inks, small parts for machines and other duplicating supplies. Operates duplicating machines and/or imaging equipment to duplicate documents. Responds to phone inquiries on the status and to request duplication/imaging jobs. Prepares reports, records and logs on duplication/imaging assignments. May train staff in the operation of duplicating machines and/or imaging equipment to duplicate documents. May operate simple bindery equipment, such as collators and staplers. May clean, lubricate and perform preventive maintenance on equipment. May occasionally be assigned other duties to meet technological changes as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis.
 
This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year of duplication/imaging related experience is required.
 
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS              
None

PREFERENCES

Preference shall be given to applicants with experience on large format & high speed scanners.

Preference may be given to applicants with basic knowledge of ILMS (Integrated Land Management System).

**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
