Summary: Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers by performing the following duties:
 Examples Of Essential Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices. Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aide, CPR and/or AED. Maintains order in swimming areas by consistently enforcing rules. Inspects facilities for cleanliness. Cleans swimming pool. Instructs children in swim lessons, maintains paperwork necessary for instructor documentation. Attends mandatory lifeguard in-service training throughout the summer. Supervise patrons within pool facility: on pool deck, pool furniture, pool lobby and in the pool. Maintain minimum requirements of 800 meters lap swim per week for physical conditioning. Education and/or Experience: Must be 16 years of age or older Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two-and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak a simple sentence. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Jeff Ellis & Assoc. Certified Advanced CPR & First Aid Oxygen Administration & AED Certified Other Skills and Abilities: Work well with children, Bilingual language skills a plus
