Part Time Residential Collector
at City of Brenham
- $12.00 per hour (20 hours or less per week)
Picks up garbage for residential customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Picks up residential garbage and places in garbage truck;
- Picks up yard waste and places in trailer;
- Greases and washes garbage trucks;
- Unloads yard waste from trailer;
- Delivers garbage bags to residential customers; and
- Takes out trash at city hall.
This is a non-supervisory position.

Education and/or Experience
High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Safety procedures for garbage collection; and safe operation of levers on garbage trucks.
Safely and effectively operate levers on garbage trucks; drive city vehicles; read manuals, instructions, and road signs; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Texas driver's license or available alternate means of transportation.

The work environment requires that the employee exercise caution at all times and adhere to safety standards to avoid the risk of personal injury. The employee frequently is required to work under time pressures to meet deadlines, to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work closely with others as part of a team. The work environment is noisy and distracting.
