This seasonal position serves as the Head Track Coach of the City of Baytown Youth Summer Track Program. The Head Track Coach organizes, coaches, conducts practices, motivates and instructs the athletes in the program.

 
 Duties:
  • Plans, develops and implements the track program in accordance with TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) and Hershey's league policies and procedures.
  • Trains, instructs and supervises athletes in a variety of track skills and techniques; teaches rules, conduct and safety; provides a variety of guidance, instruction and experience to enhance athletes personal, physical and social growth and development.
  • Plans and conducts regularly scheduled practice sessions.
  • Coaches and supervises athletes during track meets.
  • Supervises and assigns assistant track coaches; conducts coaching meetings; evaluates and improves track program.
  • Coordinates a variety of scheduling, including transportation, practice facilities, and registration
  • All other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  2. Valid State of Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  3. First Aid and CPR certified.
  4. Track & Field Experience
  5. Supervisor Experience
 
PREFERRED:
1.  Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university
2.  Two years directly related experience
 Additional Information:
Motivational, effective communication, behavior management skills with the ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.  Track coaching techniques, be familiar with track rules and regulations.
