Job Description
CDM Smith Houston is looking for project management and subject matter expertise in the area of industrial water and waste water services supporting the growth and client demands across the region and world. The candidate should be interested in supporting a variety of industries and project types including upstream and downstream oil and gas, petrochemicals, food and beverage, mining and industrial manufacturing. We will be supporting our clients in the region as well as supporting CDM Smiths industrial teams across the globe.

Project work will range from water sourcing/resource studies, treatment and reuse, full facility water infrastructure system design and construction projects, alternative discharge strategies.

Water strategies will range across a variety treatment technologies, vendors and equipment providers. CDM Smith is focused on providing water solutions across our full services EPC delivery model. Our water technical PMs and SMEs will be valuable team members to the project execution.


Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.

- Professional engineering (PE) license.

- 10 years of related experience.

- Some domestic travel may be required. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.


Preferred Qualifications
• Experience serving chemical, refinery, oil and gas client, other industrial facilities for development of treatment processes for storm water, wastewater and process water management and treatment.

• Food and beverage experience a plus

• Focus is on management of industrial water/wastewater streams, not on the industrial process – this is a water treatment (water or wastewater) position.

• Experience with FEED, FEL approach to project delivery

• Support Design-Build and EPC delivery and project pursuits.

• Industrial pre-treatment prior to disposal either into a municipal system or surface water discharge.

• Versed in conceptualization of industrial water/wastewater treatment process design involving biological, physicochemical, API/DGF, membranes, evaporation and filtration technologies. Sludge handling and treatment a plus.

• Experience with full water footprint analysis of industrial operations, water management planning, water risk and business risk analysis are added skills.

• Support business development efforts including preparation of proposals and delivering presentations.

• Working knowledge of PIP, API, and ASME specifications.

• Regulatory experience a plus (NPDES, NESHAPs, 40CFR QQQ, TRE/TIE)
