Position Summary for Payroll Specialist
The Payroll Specialist responsible for the accurate processing of payroll transactions, expense reports, as well as database updates and preparation of necessary reports as per the defined company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities and Duties
•Payroll Transactions & Expense Disbursements.
•Process payroll transactions to ensure timely salary and expense disbursements.
•Reconcile and upload payroll transactions of the payroll system accurately. (Currently using ADP Workforce Now BUT transitioning to Oracle)
•Prepare complex payroll information for data input and monitor quality control and maintenance of records, to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity.
Federal tax provisions
•Ensure all legally required payroll deductions are accurately maintained, calculated, disbursed and reported as necessary.
•Ensure the timely reporting and distribution of all periodically scheduled financial forms to employees (i.e. W-2s).
Filling & Reports
•Prepare and provide periodic reports in timely manner to facilitate management, internal and external auditors review.
•Ensure all related documents and files are properly archived Compliance.
•Ensure accurate benefit calculations, deductions record keeping and reporting.
•Handles all garnishments, deductions and vacation/sick time balances.
•Assist with the managing of 401k plans including regularly scheduled reporting of contributions and loans.
•Receive, analyze and verify certain invoices relative to payroll and benefits processing.
•Reconcile and properly record credit card statements, as well as vendor account activity.
•Communicate with employees and vendors and respond to/resolve inquiries.
•Serve as backup for Finance department as needed.
•Complete accurate and consistent payroll processing according to company policy and in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws.
Qualifications for Payroll Specialist
Bachelor's degree AND 4-15 Years of FULL-CYCLE PAYROLL experience.
Multi-state preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits for Payroll Specialist
•Salary : $55k - $62k DOE
•Benefits : Full time, permanent employees are eligible for:
