Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a SCADA Technician with experience with real time control systems in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team!

Role Summary:

The SCADA Technician role is responsible for researching, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining all SCADA programs, database software and all associated field interfacing hardware devices, to allow for pipeline control and monitoring that ensures safe and reliable custody transfers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Upgrade and maintain Field RCG files for interfacing RCA equipment.

  • Upgrade and maintain all CMX database files to include communication and historical records.

  • Complete all associated format display work that interfaces to pipeline operations.

  • Field-test all SCADA upgrades to ensure proper operation.

  • Maintain accurate records of system databases and associated field activities.

  • Perform on-site research and testing to ensure proper accuracy.

  • Plan site upgrades closely with Engineering.

  • Provide operations with recent upgrades and work closely with supervision to guarantee proper and realistic site representations.

  • Assist group in System Administration functions.

  • Provide on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to Operations on a rotating basis.

  • And other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience/training, in Computer Programming, Field Electronics or related discipline required.

  • 2+ years related experience required.

  • Must possess a basic understanding of pipeline related operations and associated field devices such as valves, control valves, tank operations, RTU’s, PLC’s, and pressure and flow devices.

  • Exposure to PC and computer navigation required.

  • Background in Windows XP is desirable.

  • Should have knowledge of decimal, hexadecimal and binary functions.

  • Knowledge of Computer Communications is a plus.

  • Prior experience with real time control systems is highly desirable. Must be able to design Information Systems that use a combination of commercial hardware, software and custom written interface software to meet business objectives.

  • Understanding of pipeline hydraulics preferred.

  • Persons in this position are asked to respond to emergencies immediately and requiress an incumbent who has the ability to meet stringent deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • The individual must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and interact on numerous concepts.

  • The individual should possess good oral and written skills.

  • The person should be flexible and should expect about 10% out of office travel time to complete projects.
