Sr. Employee Relations Generalist

Collaborates with HRD to conduct investigations based on workplace complaints received or identified, and recommends appropriate resolution through the interpretation and fair application of company personnel policies, procedures and guiding principles thereby ensuring an effective employer/employee relationship is maintained. Provides investigative support in EEOC and other regulatory agency complaints and partners with HRD to develop written responses in partnership with the organizations employment counsel, and appropriate line management to minimize or eliminate employment litigation and financial liability. Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. Assists in the identification, development and implementation of new or revised HR process improvements. Manages the termination process as assigned and including: exit interviews; submission of required documentation; processing of unemployment claims (i.e., providing separation documentation to company's third party vendor), and attendance at unemployment hearings as required. Administers assigned follow up activities stemming from employee surveys, i.e., roundtables, action planning, and subsequent employee communications to drive positive change and two-way communications within the organization. Administers any necessary reduction-in-force activities, as assigned by HRD, i.e., review of selections, development of justifications with management; attending meetings with managers and processing separation paperwork. Assists in the development and co-delivery, along with line management, of Corrective Action Plans and other coaching and corrective action documents (i.e., documented warnings) to ensure the company is providing a fair and equitable opportunity for individuals to make positive change prior to deciding any adverse employment action. Effectively manage a client group of up to 300 associates by working with frontline leaders in planning for and meeting business goals and objectives including all HR processes, programs and initiatives. Assists the Human Resources Director with implementation of HR strategic initiatives to support business objectives and in line with the Vision, Mission, Values, and Strategic Objectives across the business. Demonstrate ability to understand how the overall business & client group operates at a fundamental level and partner with HR Director to implement these solutions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Management or another related field from an accredited institution 5-7 years HR/Generalist experience with strong emphasis on employee relations, business partnerships, employee advocacy, change activities, and HR administration activities Strong knowledge of FMLA, EEO laws, ADA and other employment related State and Federal laws & regulations Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues Ability to make rational, realistic decisions using good reasoning and sound judgment Understanding of Discretion and Confidentiality Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships develop and deliver fair and equitable solutions Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with a strong employee advocacy orientation Professional demeanor with excellent and timely follow-up with business partners Must be self-motivated and have an enhanced ability to prioritize/plan in a fast paced environment Strong analytical skills Ability to have a sensitive approach to difficult situations Well organized with the strong ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to effectively work with all levels of management Assist in other areas of Human Resources as needed Travel required up to 20%
Experience with Google Platform (Gmail, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Docs, Drive) Experience with a workforce subject to comply with FMCSA and DOT regulations
