Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Pipeline Projects Execution Manager in Houston Texas within the Americas Project Execution organization.

About AP Pipelines:  Over the past 30 years, Air Products has acquired and built over 2000 miles of Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen pipelines.   Air products operates and maintains pipelines in over 20 countries.  Pipelines range in size from 2” to 24” in diameter and serve the petrochemical, metal and electronics industries.  
About the Position: The Pipeline Projects Execution Manager will be accountable for all aspects of the Pipeline Project Execution and Pipeline Project Development.  This position will have direct accountability for the execution of all pipeline capital projects in the Americas and will assist execution teams in other geographies.  The Pipeline Projects Execution Manager will interface with all the global Business Areas to develop pipeline projects to meet customer requirements and Air Products future industrial gas distribution systems.   This position requires the development and maintenance of pipeline standards to adhere to current US DOT regulations and satisfy PHMSA requirements.
Pipeline Projects Execution Manager direct reports (3-5 Project Managers) will be responsible for executing and managing multiple pipeline projects typically ranging from $500,000 to $100,000,000 in value and project durations ranging from 12 months to 3 years. The Pipeline Projects Execution Manager will be responsible for all pipeline project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, meeting customer expectations, and other factors critical to the success of the project. Pipeline project status reports are required monthly to senior management to communicate details and action plans for each project that may affect cost, schedule etc.  

The Pipeline Projects Execution Manager interfaces and works with engineering, design, purchasing, scheduling, manufacturing, ROW, environmental, suppliers, and customers to ensure project deliverables and Air Products expectations are met.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education should include a BSME, BSCHE or related degree
  • Ideally 10 or more years’ experience in pipeline related industries and technologies but will consider all candidates
  • Candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and customer focused
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Knowledge of Cathodic Protection systems, Welding procedures, Pipeline QC and project management methodologies a definite plus
  • Good organizational skills and strong resource managing abilities 
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and be able to adapt to changing work priorities and conflicts in a calm, professional manner
  • Be a team player and have the ability to work with multiple teams composed of diverse team members 
  • Experience in leading teams and developing organizational capabilities
  • Possess good problem solving and decision-making skills, and be able to negotiate effectively with internal and external team members
  • Ability to create an environment of trust and always exhibit a positive attitude 
  • Ability to work across various engineering disciplines
  • Comfortable providing feedback to team members.
