Job Description and Qualifications
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an Environmental Specialist. This is a multimedia environmental field support position responsible for coordinating environmental compliance activities for Air Products facilities and will be based at an operating facility in the Houston, TX area.


• Maintain and improve programs across all environmental media (air/water/waste/noise) to comply with environmental regulations, permit requirements, internal policies and standards.
• Maintain and improve compliance monitoring, sampling and testing programs to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and permit limits.
• Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to local, state, and federal agencies.
• Prepare and submit permit applications and conduct permit negotiations with regulatory agencies.
• Monitor agency rulemaking and analyze emerging regulations to determine impact on plant operations.
• Maintain and improve compliance assurance tool for assigned facilities.
• Participate in companywide work groups and improvement teams as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with project management skills and a work process orientation.
• Able to work in both field and office settings.
• Able to travel locally (day trips) regularly, with occasional multi-day trips.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance; Title V permitting experience is a plus.
• Experience with Texas and Louisiana environmental regulations and programs is a plus.
