Air Products (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Account Manager for its Houston, TX market.

The Account Manager is responsible for selling bulk industrial gas products (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium, and hydrogen) to the industrial, manufacturing, food and electronics related customers and markets.  
Primary position responsibilities include securing new business, providing account management to an existing customer base and achieving sales and profit growth in the assigned territory.  Territory coverage is Houston and surrounding area. 

Sales responsibilities include leading all facets of the sales process from prospecting, preparing and presenting proposals to contract and pricing negotiations needed to secure new business.  Responsibilities also include ensuring customer retention through an enhanced relationship focused on proactive account management. 
Focus will be on acquiring new business.

The Account Manager will participate in the quarterly sales incentive and the car allowance program and will be based in the South Region Headquarters located in Houston.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• 4 - 10 years of experience; Bachelor's degree required.
• A technical and financial background or aptitude with strong selling skills are a must. Industrial Gases experience a plus.
• Highly motivated, ability to work and prioritize independently.
• Ability to communicate and work with external customers and internal business functions.
• Ability to work cross functionally inside of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
