Job Summary
Provide project controls leadership at our construction sites, providing cost control and scheduling for power plant and water treatment type EPC projects. This support is for the AECOM Process Technologies located in Austin, TX. Typical projects are throughout North America and can range in value from $100,000 to $100,000,000, and can encompass all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement and construction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collects data and produces an analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations
  • Use earned value methodology for trending and forecasting
  • Uses financial data to identify key project issues
  • Supports project reporting process as required
  • Work with company financial systems and processes
  • Understand financial terminology to measure and recognize the financial impact of project actions
  • Use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data
  • Prepare analysis of progress trends and cost impact. Participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.
  • Tracking purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures
  • Assists with the creation of baseline budgets.
  • Lead project schedule development; use Primavera for updating, forecasting and analysis.
  • Develop project reports for internal and external clients.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management/Engineering or related field of study and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
  • Requires attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work effectively with internal and external clients
  • Available to relocate to work as part of the field construction management team at our US based projects.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Able to become proficient with the company financial systems and processes.
  • Familiar with earned value, scope control and change management concepts, principles and methodologies
  • Experience with scheduling software (Primavera) and development of detailed project schedules
  • Has knowledge of accounting principles
  • Has in-depth knowledge of earned value methodology
  • Possesses the experience to manage scope control and change management
  • Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience preferred
  • Previous construction experience preferred
