Job Summary
The Civil Engineering Department of AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is actively seeking a Drainage Engineer for employment in our Austin, TX office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Transportation Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 4 years of drainage related transportation experience, including PS&E design experience
  • 3 years of TxDOT experience
  • TxDOT precertifications
  • Proficient with TxDOT Design Standards
  • Experienced with proposal development, client presentations and relationship development
  • Demonstrated success in achieving scope, schedule, and budget goals on a large-scale transportation project
  • MicroStation and Geopak proficient
  • Hydraulic modeling and design experience includes the use of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, GEOPAK Drainage, and GEOPAK Road

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or ability to obtain via reciprocity
  • Projects in the Edwards Aquifer.
  • Proficient in Open Roads
