Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Unit is actively seeking a Construction Administrator for immediate employment in the Houston, Texas office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful, and be decisive.

Work includes some of or all of the following:
  • Prepares or proofs correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, or documents, schedules meetings, makes travel arrangements, and/or maintains inventory of office supplies. • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish more complicated goals.
  • Uses Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other programs to accomplish work.
  • May direct and lead the work of others.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

~  Preparation and review of project invoicing and billings.  Applicable knowledge of general accounting and financial project management.
~  Document Control – Responsible for processing incoming/outgoing documentation and dissemination to appropriate team members for further action (i.e.,Construction Submittals, RFIs, Supplemental Instructions, O&M Manuals, RFPs, Contract Letters, Non-Conformance Notices, Pay Requests, and other construction management related documentation)
~  Maintain current records of contractor progress payments, contract drawings, and other documents
~  Preparing contract-in-process payments
~  Tracking estimates, change orders, work authorizations, invoices
~  Troubleshoot issues related to the documents being processed and project related issues
~  Provide project status updates relating to construction submittals, O&M Manuals, RFIs, NCRs and other construction administration reports as requested
~  Attend contractor progress and other meetings, both in office and on construction sites as needed
~  Audit daily inspection reports to ensure accuracy
~  Liaise with field inspection team and project team
~  Flexible and able to work as a member of a dynamic and fast paced work environment and at times under pressure of meeting critical deadlines
~  High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential; able to prioritize multiple tasks

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor degree or higher in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of construction administration experience and document control management


Preferred Qualifications
~  Strong verbal and written communication skills
~  Strong organizational skills
~  Proficiency in using MS Office Suite Professional, specifically
~  Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project and/or Oracle
~  Strong customer service skills
~  Working knowledge of terminology used in engineering and construction industry
~  Experience using SharePoint, Proliance Analytics System, ProjectWise, and/or similar project management softwares
~  Experience with MicroSoft Project Scheduler or Primavera scheduling software
