Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Accounting Supervisor in Austin, Texas. This supervisory role assists in managing the fixed asset function. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the overall process for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.  Assist team in the determination of proper accounting treatment for expenses related to financed fixed assets.
  • Conduct periodic impairment reviews and work with regional management on asset disposals.
  • Review monthly journal entries  and account reconciliations related to the fixed assets, construction in progress, capital leases and notes payable.  Ensure timely resolution for the team's outstanding items.
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
  • Oversee the preparation  and review the financial reporting and audit schedules relating to fixed assets, capital leases and notes payable.  Assist internal and external customers/auditors in their inquiries.

Additional job responsibilities may include:

• Provides guidance and direction to employees according to established policies, procedures and management guidance.
• Administers company policies that affect subordinates.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
• Provides direct supervision to exempt and/or non-exempt employees.
