Marathon Oil is seeking an experienced Payroll Systems Analyst in Houston,TX.

The Payroll Systems Analyst will be a part of the newly formed Payroll & HR Data organization for Marathon Oil Company. Primary responsibilities will include various aspects of processing and closing the payroll for all companies in Marathon Oil Corporation, which may include processing payments for employees located in Canada and employees on expatriate assignment to/from the US and Canada. In addition, the position will interface with employees worldwide, Human Resource representatives, government representatives, Information Technology Analysts, and payroll vendors. The successful candidate should possess a commitment to a repetitive processing schedule, be organized, and detail- oriented.

Responsibilities:
1) Process the payroll for exempt, non- exempt, and hourly employees on the US and/or Canadian payroll in SAP, includes running various reports/queries, simulating payroll, and correcting errors, as required to assist in closing payrolls.
2) Prepares and reconciles Form T-4s for employees in Canada.
3) Prepares and submits Alberta Workers Compensation and Record of Employment reports for employees in Canada.
4) Process annual bonus payments.
5) Handle corrections of employee data and time input that affect an employees pay including the preparation of off- cycle checks, as necessary.
6) Prepare the bank deposits and distribute the payroll wage type reports for the various payroll accounts which include both the weekly and bi-weekly payroll.
7) Analyze International Overseas Compensation reports, comparing current salary and tax bases. These reports and calculations are completed three times each year.
8) Work closely with International Human Resources and third party expatriate administrator to ensure payments to overseas employees are completed correctly.
9) Work with third party expatriate tax vendor to understand and process international employee tax requirements.
10) Responding queries from the 800 payroll telephone hotline and Payroll Help mailbox.
11) Records time for US employees on expatriate assignment in the UK.
12) Prepares Termination Allowance calculations and tables.
13) Adjusts absence quota balances, including daily sick quotas, as necessary.
14) Sets up new and changes to schedules in SAP.
15) Assist with resolving timekeeper issues including helping timekeepers update variants, recording Remedy tickets for the Service Desk and assisting with time input issues.
16) Handle the preparation of the accounting summaries from the payroll processing.
17) Annually contact agencies for employee garnishments to determine if garnishment is required from any supplemental/bonus payments.
18) Prepares wire transfer requests and coordinates wires with Treasury.
19) Reconciles deduction register with third party payments and coordinates payment to third parties.

Skills / Requirements

Qualifications:
* Degree: Bachelors preferred
* Major: Business, Information Technology, Accounting, and/or Human Resources preferred
* Computer Proficiencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word. SAP HR knowledge required.
* Certifications: None required. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
* Work Experience: Candidates without at degree must have at least three years prior payroll processing experience
