Job: Software Development Manager

#5 Best Place to Work in Texas, is looking for a manager to lead one of our
programming teams. This position will provide daily management, architectural and
technical guidance to developers, as well as ensure that sound design, process, and
quality procedures are followed. This hands-on manager position covers all aspects of
development and will have a staff of 8 to 12 people. This position will lead one of the
five teams that report to the Director of Development.

Candidates considered for this role will have a proven record with several years of
experience in project leadership and/or managing a team of technical professionals.
Significant accomplishments in programming/software development are also
required. This person must be able to understand the day-to-day functions of
programmers, technical writers, and quality assurance professionals. Given the level
of responsibility, the ideal candidate will have been recognized for their leadership and
big picture abilities, and have the technical and management savvy necessary to lead
people.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring,
coaching, conducting performance reviews, and the professional development of their
staff as well as participate in or lead technology evaluations of development tools and
techniques that will help our customers.

Education: College degree desired but exceptional experience will be considered in lieu
of a degree.
