DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise Air Pack section. Schedule and review employee's work. Train and evaluate employees. Prepare, review, and monitor operating budget and expenditures. Coordinate procurement of materials and service. Maintain and update records and reports. Coordinate projects with various departments and agencies. Train and develop technical personnel on techniques, use of equipment and project specifications. Perform field checks, tests, and maintenance on equipment. May perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or record boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis. There are occasional discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve occasional exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.

Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires an Associate's degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of inventory control, materials management, or record keeping experience are required. May require experience in operating a forklift and other motorized or non-motorized materials handling equipment. Two years of additional responsible inventory control and/or materials management experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2). PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to applicants with certification in the repair and operations of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.
