Client in the Greenway Plaza area needs a senior buyer with 7-10 years experience working for a large global company and at least 5 of those years as a buyer. Need to be familiar with an ERP system. This person must have a bachelor's degree and prefer that it is related Global Supply Chain Management.

Job Duties :
Performs varied purchasing assignments, with main responsibility of purchasing Capital equipment and spare parts as assigned by Manager Capital Procurement, requiring the exercise of judgment and ingenuity and a good working knowledge of purchasing from appropriate supply sources. Position requiring previous Buyer experience

DUTIES:
1. Verifies nomenclature and specification of material requisitions received electronically from field locations. Researches catalogs, purchasing software Materials Management Module.
2. Obtains guidance from Capital Procurement Manager to ensure purchases are consistent with departmental objectives, and Company policies and procedures.
3. Obtains quotes using the Request for Quote (RFQ) functionality in the Purchasing software. Uses functionality of RFQ system to maintain and evaluate quotes.
4. Prepares and inputs pricing and pertinent data in the purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
5. Request approval from project or field management as per set procedures in the Supply Chain Management Manual (HQS-SCM-001) and Department Quality Manual where applicable.
6. Assists logistics personnel in resolving material receipt discrepancies and returns to Suppliers.
7. Attends to Procurement Incident Reports from field locations.
8. Resolves Invoice discrepancies for accounts payable.
9. Communicates queries and information for the assigned projects using e-mail.
10. Promptly responds to field status inquiries.
11. Perform functions required to obtain materials and services at required quality, quantity, delivery and lowest end cost.
12. Identify sources capable of providing materials, evaluate and recommend placement of orders.
13. Assist in expediting material deliveries as needed.
14. Develop awareness of other corporate purchases and the use of common supply sources.
15. Maintain a functional relationship with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Controls, Engineering, QA/QC, and field personnel.
16. Assist in training of lower level buyers as needed.
17. Maintain highest ethical and professional standards.

Salary :
69,000 USD – 86,500 USD 15% bonus

EXPERIENCE:
7-10 years of related work experience including 5 years as Buyer.

SKILLS:
Ability to perform routine tasks. Skill in operating basic email, spreadsheet and database computer programs. Proficiency with fairly complex in-house computer programs. Basic analytical skills Experience with ERP systems in a Supply Chain environment.
