Job Title: HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Salary: $1,053.00 - $1,875.00 Biweekly $27,378.00 - $48,750.00 Annually Job Type: Full-Time Location: Houston, Texas PN# 06859 All Persons Interested HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST Municipal Courts Department Justice Division 1400 Lubbock M - F, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.* *Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide complex processing in SAP/HR application in the areas of Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Payroll and Time Management. Perform administrative functions in specialized areas such as payroll, personnel, retirement, workers compensation, safety, training and benefits. Responds to various inquires from the public and City departments. Interprets policies and procedures. Prepare, post and monitors job vacancies. Screen, refer, and schedule applicants for interviews. Provide administrative support regarding grievances, arbitration and Civil Service Commission appeals. WORKING CONDITIONS There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions. Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field. Pertinent personnel experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS One year of related professional personnel and payroll experience, which must be specific to the City of Houston HR/Payroll System. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2). PREFERENCES: PREFERENCES Strong computer skills with experience in Windows XP, MS Word Office Suites and Excel Applications.
