Job Title: DIVISION MANAGER
Salary: $2,000.00 - $4,290.00 Biweekly $52,000.00 - $111,540.00 Annually Job Type: Full-Time Location: 1200 Travis, Texas PN# 07016 HOUSTON POLICE BUDGET AND FINANCE N/A 1200 TRAVIS MONDAY - FRIDAY, 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.* *Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage all aspects of the Houston Police Department payroll operations. This includes oversight, training and direction of staff, problem resolution, research, analyses, reports, customer service and extensive communications. Also manage the SAP/payroll interfaces with HPD HR, City HR, Central Payroll, Controllers and EARP teams. Serve as primary contact with key interest groups such as the Houston Police Officer Union and Houston Police Officers Pension Plans. As needed, design control processes to ensure pay transactions are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate the testing of payroll system logic on behalf of HPD, particularly when new codes or processes are introduced. Initiate and provide circulars for payroll items that affect the department. Also, keep timekeepers and others trained and informed on payroll issues. Solve complicated payroll problems for employees on a timely basis and ensure timely resolutions and closure of issues and customer service matters. WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a field closely related to activities of the division. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Seven years of progressive professional experience closely related to the activities of the division are required, with at least three of the years in a supervisory capacity. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field closely related to the activities of the division may be substituted for two years of experience. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None. PREFERENCES: PREFERENCES None.
