Job Title: ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - SW
Salary: $1,641.00 - $1,695.00 Biweekly $42,666.00 - $44,070.00 Annually Job Type: Full-Time Location: Houston, Texas PN# 06886 Department of Public Works and Engineering Engineering and Construction Division Construction Branch 611 Walker M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.** *Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Administrate and evaluate various construction contracts and projects. Works with other divisions and departments, outside agencies to expedite construction. May perform project site evaluations to assure adherence to contract specifications and requirements. Informs supervisors of special problems. Maintains construction project records, prepares and develops management reports, provides input for departmental decision making and planning. Prepares monthly pay estimates, submittals and other job related correspondence pertaining to the project. Assists Design Engineer and Legal Department with preparation of construction and construction administration contracts. Drafts and edits written materials such as reports, test results, procedural guidelines and policy statements. Maintains current knowledge of technological and construction procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS This position is physically comfortable; the individual has some discretion about walking, standing, etc. This is a Department of Public Works & Engineering Emergency Management position at the Tier 3 Level. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Physical Sciences or a closely related field. Considerable knowledge of the construction industry is required. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two (2) years of experience in construction, construction inspection, design, geotechnical, environmental or a closely related field is required. Directly related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving.
