Salary: $4,285.00 - $4,428.00 Biweekly $111,410.00 - $115,128.00 Annually Job Type: Executive Level Location: Houston, Texas PN# 06693 Public Works & Engineering Planning and Development Services Utilities Planning Branch 611 Walker * M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.* *Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Directs and manages the activities of the professional, technical and support staff of the Utilities Planning and Analysis Branch of the Planning & Development Services Division. Manages and directs personnel, reviews operations and establishes objectives within the branch. Makes presentations to council, government agencies and other organizations. Serves as a principal liaison with various public utilities and water authorities, the development community at large, and various state and local governmental and regulatory agencies. Attends meetings to establish policies, plans and system directives. Researches a variety of issues which may impact the city's drinking water and waste water facilities and infrastructure. Establishes operational and reporting guidelines for systems. Defines, develops and enforces the division's policies and codes. WORKING CONDITIONS This position is physically comfortable. The individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. This is a Department of Public Works & Engineering Emergency Management position at the Tier I Level. Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Civil or Structural or a closely related engineering discipline. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS More than ten (10) years of experience is required. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Requires registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. A valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving are also required.
