Job: Nursing Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Nursing Supervisor to join our family.

Basic Description of Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Provides leadership for clinical employees.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Coordinates clinical staffing to ensure that patient needs are met.

Ensures daily staffing needs are met to meet the demands of patient census.

Fills in on patient care units in the absence of staff members.

Consults with Physicians on nursing problems or interpretation of clinic policies to ensure patient needs are met.

Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

Interviews, hires, mentors and trains employees.

Plans, assigns and directs work.

Evaluates performance.

Rewards and disciplines employees.

Investigates complaints and resolves problems.

Monitors time and attendance for employees and ensuring that payroll data is complete and accurate in a timely manner.

Monitors overtime for employees and responsible proactively keeping employee overtime to a minimum.

Monitors employees for current licensure i.e. nursing license, CPR, ACLS.

Consistently communicates with the Director of Nursing about issues and potential problems with staff, Physicians, patients, processes or any area of concern. This communication shall be done in a timely manner. If the Director of Nursing is absent, communication within the appropriate chain of command is expected.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must be knowledgeable in general nursing duties.

Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Must be proficient in handling multiple tasks at one time.

Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Education, Licenses, & Certifications:

Registered Nurse from an accredited two or four year degree program, with supervisory experience preferred.

Prefer candidate with multi speciality clinic experience, but willing to train right candidate.

Current Texas license.

Current BLS and ACLS.
