We are currently seeking a Endo Technologist - Certified to join our family.
The ideal candidate is:
Endo Technologist Certified
The Gastroenterology Technician performs or assists in performing examinations and procedures; assists in and may monitor others in the cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilization of examination equipment; provides technical assistance in the Recovery Room; May assist in admitting and discharging patients; Monitors and maintains inventory supply; Prepares quality control reports for Clinical Director. Under the direct Supervision of the Clinical Nurse, performs or assists in performing selected procedures not requiring sedation; Explains exam procedures to patient and answers non-complex procedural questions. Assists Clinical Nurses and/or Physicians in exams and procedures requiring sedation by placing, guiding and/or advancing fiber-optic, endo or flexible sigmoid scope upon Physician’s request; Holds and passes exam utensils such as guidewires, biopsy brushes and forceps; Monitors patient’s signs during procedures; Performs gastric chartings involving timing, measuring and evaluating pH in gastric fluids; Assists in resuscitation or CPR if needed. Cleans, disinfects and sterilizes endoscopes, colonscopes, guidewires, biopsy forceps and brushes used during GI exams and treatments by scrubbing, flushing and bathing equipment with approved chemicals according to policy and procedure as well as federal and state regulations. Assists in and may monitor others in cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilization of equipment to ensure quality control. Provides technical assistance to Supervisor or to Clinical Nurse in Recovery Room by monitoring and charting patient physiological information such as blood pressure, heart rate, etc.; Prepares specimen slides by cross-sectioning; Delivers specimen to appropriate lab. Other duties as assigned. Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program. Required to be a Certified Surgical Technologist or preferred Certified Endo-Technologist. Must be certified to perform CPR with a minimum of 6 months of GI clinical experience in a related field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Must have Sterile Processing experience, knowledge and experience in the principles of sterilization. Must be able to multi-task. Must have critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently, sound judgement, reporting to Clinical Director.
Skills / Requirements
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program. Required to be a Certified Surgical Technologist or preferred Certified Endo-Technologist. Must be certified to perform CPR with a minimum of 6 months of GI clinical experience in a related field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Must have Sterile Processing experience, knowledge and experience in the principles of sterilization. Must be able to multi-task. Must have critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently, sound judgement, reporting to Clinical Director.
