We are currently seeking a RN - General Surgery to join our family.

The ideal candidate is:

RN - General Surgery

  • Coordinate and supervise patient care reflecting the needs of the patients, families, and the facility. Gives care reflecting the flexibility in rules and regulations, as indicated by the patients needs. The RN makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts, knowledge of disease/surgical conditions, care required and good judgment. Performance reflects knowledge in all areas of care specific to outpatient/ambulatory care, equipment safety, conscious sedation and procedures. The RN utilizes personal initiative, maintains a steady level of productivity, functions as a self-starter and is a supportive team player. Communicates appropriately and clearly to the Clinical Director. Treats family and patients with respect and dignity. Clinically: The periopertive RN performs all aspects of care (pre-operatively and post-operatively) in an environment that optimizes patient safety. Must have the ability to perform head -to-toe assessment. Knowledge of IV insertion and fluid management including antibiotics. Utilization of appropriate pain management techniques and ability to educate patient and family. Formulate and individual care plans. Assist surgeon during procedures. Must possess knowledge of cardiac monitoring and ability to identify dysrhythmias. Working knowledge of scopes and maintenance. Maintain a good working knowledge of medications commonly used in the procedural setting. Ability to circulate or willingness to learn for cross-training. Ensures documentation is completed to meet all regulatory standards. Professionally: The RN maintains patient confidentiality at all times and represents the organization in a positive manner. This position is full-time and requires the RN to report to work on time as scheduled. The RN will be required to attend staff meetings, annual review and in-services as scheduled. The RN will be required to activily participate in the Quality Management Program of the Sadler Clinic Surgery Center.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • Texas State RN license. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training in a multispeciality surgical setting. Able to read and communicate English language. Basic computer knowledge
    BLS, ACLS required and PALS within one year of employment.
