Sr. Engineer – petrochemical /terminal facilities
Design and Project Job Responsibilities: 1.) Layout for petrochemical and terminal facilities using best engineering practices. 2.) Preparation and interpretation of specifications for tanks, piping, pumps, meters, etc. 3.) Develop engineering procedures for the company. 4.) Work in a team environment to ensure that all activities are done in a consistent, cohesive manner and meet stated commitment deadlines and functionalities. 5.) Preparation of scope definitions, estimates, and feasibility studies. 6.) Detailed design of piping systems using PFDs, P&IDs, and Isometrics. 7.) Preparation of tender packages for procurement. 8.) Evaluate and compare bids and proposals. 9.) Preparation and management of project schedules. 10.) Provide support and input in the AutoCAD drafting process. 11.) Must be hands-on (in the field sometimes) and willing to wear many hats. 12.) Must be willing to travel when needed. Skills / Requirements
1.) B. S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering.
2.) 10+ years of extensive experience in the petrochemical business with 5 years Terminal experience preferred; may consider 1+ year terminal or “tank farm” experience. 3.) Thorough understanding of terminal operations and processes. 4.) Interpersonal skills – You Must: a.) Be a self starter capable of working independently as well as in team environments. b.) Have strong listening and retention skills. c.) Have strong verbal and written communication skills. d.) Work logically and systematically. 5.) Competencies – You Must: a.) Have advanced knowledge of M.S. Excel. You must be proficient at setting up Engineering spreadsheets in Excel; using Excel formulas and macros to perform engineering calculations, etc. b.) Be familiar with legal / permit requirements, standards and specifications for the petrochemical industry. c.) Have knowledge of current best practices for project management, continuous improvement and quality assurance. d.) Be familiar various methods of cost estimating. e.) Understand and be able to perform hydraulic calculations. f.) Have knowledge and experience with the domestic local contractors market. g.) Have ability to analyze issues and propose creative / alternative solutions to problems. h.) Have the ability to analyze customer requirements. i.) Have basic drafting skills including use of AutoCAD. j.) Produce high quality and accurate work products k.) Have good computer skills. There is no admin assistant for this position.
