Job: Water Plant Maintenance Technician

1. PERFORMS preventive maintenance on motors, pumps and emergency generators.

2. PERFORMS repairs on pumps, motors, automatic clay valves, lawnmowers and weedeaters and other equipment used in the Water Department.

3. PERFORMS minor repairs on electrical control panels.

4. SCHEDULES maintenance work orders and parts orders and ENTERS the data into the computer.

5. PERFORMS all other related duties and assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required. One to three years experience in a related field required. Valid Texas State driver’s license required.

Skills in maintenance of pumps, motors and electrical panels, generators and automatic valves. Knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pump operation, motors and generations. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, determining both the problems and the solutions.
